Abby is now sound asleep. An astounding day bringing Abby into our arms. She has bonded tight with Jennifer. Me-she isn't so sure about yet. Lots of looks when she doesn't think I am watching.
We will try to post a picture or two soon. In the meantime-she is beautiful! We are trying to teach her how to say "y'all" along with momma and dadda.
Tomorrow we start working our way through the Chinese system. Early start but done by noon.
New prayer requests.
1) Abby-she will continue to bond tightly with us
2) Jennifer-for strength and endurance
3) Aaron-that Abby will bond with me soon
Yea!! Such good news that y'all are together as a family...finally! Prayers for everything to go smoothly for the rest of your stay and that Abby would have an open heart and mind to you both and feel calm and loved as she goes through this big transition.

Congratulations!!! I woke up yesterday dreaming of a ladybug on my arm and my thoughts went to your family. Bonding is a process that came very easy with our first child, but it took our second daughter a good 6 months to a year to totally bond and trust her daddy. For months, she wouldn't even take a Cheerio from him (she'd rather die hungry before taking food from him)!! It's not easy and quite draining at times, but stay with it and do all you can to meet her basic needs! Eventually she'll come around and see you're great Daddy!!
ReplyDeleteCongratulations!!! can't wait to see pictures of her in your arms.
ReplyDeleteWe love you guys!

Great news Aaron. We have been praying for you every morning. We will continue.....can't wait to meet you little bundle of joy. Tell Jen and your mom Karen and I send our love and prayers.
ReplyDeleteCongratulations!!! Paige and I have been saying prayers for you all. Welcome to the journey of fatherhood. :) Just know the bonding process happens all in due time.
ReplyDeleteAaron and Jennifer I tried to send a comment and it was sent to me. I've been thinking about you all day. It's really neat to know that you are mommy and daddy for the rest of your lives. God bless you in the days ahead and as you journey home. Aaron be patient and Abby will bond with you in her own time. Give her some banana pudding or blue bell from your bowl and that will begin the bonding process.
ReplyDeleteBrought tears to my eyes! God is amazing isn't He!
ReplyDeleteCongratulations!
Praise the Lord!!! I am in tears too! The most amazing thing to watch is a child peacefully sleeping!! Don't let Aaron snore and wake her up!! Please post a picture!! I drove by your house today and thought that it won't be long until she'll be running out the door to get the mail or pick a flower to give you!! We are praying for the "process" and can't wait for more updates!!! Love to Y'ALL!!!! Sherry Reeve
ReplyDeleteCongratulations!!! I have been thinking of you all weekend. I can't wait to meet the new Manley family.Kalynne

Jennifer,
ReplyDeleteWe are so excited for you! I took care of your group of ladies tonight at BSF -- small turnout, but I hope you don't mind that I shared with them that you now have little Abby and it is going well. Our prayers for your bonding with Abby are being answered! Much love to you and Aaron and Mrs. Manley (Grandma!)
